Metal Guide

Know your pieces so you can treat them properly

As you explore our stunning jewellery collections, it’s essential to know that each piece is meticulously handcrafted by some of the world’s finest silversmiths. We take pride in using high-quality precious metals, including 925 sterling silver, 9k, 14k, and 18k gold, to bring you timeless elegance.

925 Sterling Silver
Radiant, lustrous, and versatile, sterling silver is a timeless metal that effortlessly combines beauty and durability. It has been adored in the world of jewellery making for centuries. However, pure silver is too soft for everyday wear, so we enhance its strength by creating an alloy. Our 925 sterling silver is a ‘soft’ metal that may develop small scratches and dents over time due to its daily use and contact with fabrics and surfaces.

Sterling silver is an alloy composed of 92.5 percent silver and 7.5 percent other metals like zinc, copper, or nickel. By adding these metals, we achieve a desirable hardness, making sterling silver suitable and durable for jewellery. The result is its signature bright, shiny, and metallic appearance. While sterling silver can tarnish, we treat all our jewellery with an anti-tarnish coating and often plate our 925 sterling silver pieces with white rhodium. To maintain its beauty, gently wipe your jewellery with a polishing cloth after each use.

9k, 14k, and 18k Yellow or Rose Gold
In our gold collections, we utilize a layer of 9k, 14k, or 18k yellow or rose gold plating over 925 sterling silver. With a thickness of 1-3.0 microns, our gold plating ensures a stunning and long-lasting finish. Both yellow and rose gold pieces grace our collections, each offering its unique charm. Yellow gold, a classic choice, effortlessly complements any stone color. On the other hand, rose gold evokes a romantic allure, often favored for feminine jewellery.

Whether in yellow or rose gold, our jewellery is designed to endure. The base metal is 925 sterling silver, ensuring the use of precious metals throughout. A generous layer of gold is electroplated over the base, resulting in high-quality jewellery that is resistant to fading, tarnishing, or wearing off, even with daily wear. While our gold jewellery may naturally wear over time, it can easily be re-plated by a professional jeweler, ensuring its longevity.

Embrace the meticulous craftsmanship and enduring beauty of our jewellery collections, each piece a testament to exceptional artistry and unparalleled quality.
